Canada CrinoidsThis plate displays a fine grouping of Cladid crinoids found in the Middle Ordovician Trenton Group deposits of Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. This one has three specimens of Cupulocrinus humilis in fine three dimensional relief. The Cupulocrinidae are thought to be closely related to the Flexibilia, but they themselves left no descendants. The example at the far left is seen with a bryozoan, most likely a species of Batostoma. The other uncommon crinoid is a Prorocrinus, seen in the very center of the plaque. All fossil animals are the result of a natural association.
